Electrical systems are the most critical items within office buildings and industrial applications. Heat is an important factor in High Voltage equipment. When electrical current passes through a resistive element, it generates heat. An increased resistance results in an increase in heat. Temperatures of the cooling fins and the high voltage connection can be compared so that, if necessary, corrective action can be taken before real problems occur. Other high voltage installations that are checked with an IR camera include Circuit Breakers and Switchers and High-Voltage Power Lines.
